  • What subjects does Arrows of Wonder cover?
All units incorporate Writing/Language Arts, History, Science, and Bible, providing a well-rounded learning experience. While some simple math concepts may be mentioned, a full math curriculum is not included at this time—though we hope to add it in the future! The flexibility allows you to tailor the learning experience to what works best for your child.
  • What level should I select?
See our ABOUT page for further information. Little Wonders is designed specifically for 5-6-year-olds, with lessons written in a way that is easy for them to understand and enjoy. Each day begins with simple, engaging activities such as name writing practice, identifying the date and days of the week, and observing the weather. The lesson itself is then followed by an activity, project, or experiment—some of which may require an adult’s help—allowing children to explore concepts in a hands-on way. To conclude each lesson, a letter recognition and tracing page helps reinforce early writing skills. With vibrant images, relatable scenarios, and interactive learning, Little Wonders keeps young learners excited while building confidence and character. Young Quivers is designed for 7-8-year-olds who are ready to take on a bit more independence while still enjoying hands-on learning. Each day begins with familiar features from the Little Wonders level—such as writing the date, tracking the weather, and daily practice—but with less parental guidance and more opportunity for children to answer in complete sentences. Lessons continue to spark curiosity through engaging stories and real-world connections, encouraging kids to observe, question, and think more deeply about the world around them. Every lesson is followed by an activity, project, or experiment that reinforces the day's topic, allowing children to explore concepts in a meaningful, hands-on way. While some activities may still require a bit of help, this level encourages growing independence, helping children build confidence in their own abilities. Mighty Warriors is designed for 9-10-year-olds who are ready to dive deeper into learning with more detail, context, and independent thinking. Each day begins with looking up and defining a key vocabulary word related to the lesson, reinforcing comprehension and expanding their knowledge. Daily tasks include writing out the date, a daily prayer, and structured reflection, helping to build consistency and intentional learning habits. Lessons are written to challenge and engage the maturing mind, encouraging curiosity and critical thinking. Prompted writing assignments help strengthen expressive and imaginative writing, allowing children to articulate their thoughts, observations, and ideas with more confidence. While hands-on activities, projects, and experiments remain a core part of learning, this level provides more opportunities for deeper analysis and thoughtful discussion. To ensure comprehension, each lesson concludes with a short quiz covering key material learned that day. This helps reinforce concepts, assess understanding, and build confidence in retaining knowledge. Giant Slayers is the highest level in Arrows of Wonder, designed for 11-12-year-olds as they transition into middle school. At this stage, more is expected of them academically, but we firmly believe that growth should never come at the cost of imagination and wonder. That’s why each lesson builds off of the Mighty Warriors level, offering even more opportunities for writing, reflection, and independent exploration. Each day begins with defining a key vocabulary word, recording the date, daily prayer, and Bible verse memorization through a mnemonic to help commit Scripture to heart. Structured journaling encourages deeper personal connection and accountability. Lessons are written with a higher level of detail, prompting students to think critically, analyze information, and articulate their thoughts clearly. Writing assignments challenge them to express their ideas with depth, while hands-on activities, projects, and experiments ensure they stay engaged and actively learning. This level is designed for students who are ready to take ownership of their education and work more independently. While parental guidance may still be helpful at times, Giant Slayers encourages children to demonstrate their understanding through structured writing, discussions, and self-led learning. Each lesson concludes with a short quiz to assess comprehension, reinforcing key concepts and building confidence.
  • What are the Sharpening Arrows pages all about?
Each lesson will begin with a section called "Sharpening Arrows" where the child is asked a unique question that they probably have never thought of or been asked before. This 'tradition' started in our home years ago and has brought us all closer as a family and helped my kids to learn more about one another, but also, to learn more about themselves. Sometimes these questions are silly, other times they are more on the serious side, but they are sure to result in an increased bond as you each share your answers with one another afterward.
  • What about those Target Practice pages?
As with any skilled archer - practice makes perfect! This daily page is used as a way to practice weekly spelling words, record daily observations and details like the date and weather, and refresh your students minds on recently learned skills.
  • What does a normal day look like?
There’s no such thing as a “normal” homeschool day—and that’s exactly what we love about it! Every day brings a new adventure and a chance to expand our minds, including us parents. That said, a typical day with Arrows of Wonder follows a flexible structure designed to spark curiosity and meaningful learning. The day begins with the Sharpening Arrows page (explained in the FAQs), where your child answers a thought-provoking question. These aren’t just for the kids—feel free to join in and turn them into fun discussions that open doors for connection. Next is a quick refresher on previous lessons to get the mind warmed up and ready to dive into the day’s topic. Then comes the reading. Younger children and early readers may need a parent or older sibling’s help, while older kids can read independently. Lessons are typically 2-3 pages long. After reading, it’s time for hands-on learning! Each lesson is followed by activity sheets that include crafts, experiments, research, writing, crosswords, drawings, and more—guaranteed to make learning engaging and memorable. On average, an entire lesson and activities take 3-4 hours, though this may vary depending on the child and the specific activities.
  • How are your unit books different than others?
What truly sets Arrows of Wonder apart from other unit studies is our commitment to making learning seamless and engaging for both you and your child. Unlike many other programs that require multiple textbooks—science, grammar, writing, spelling, history, Bible, and seatwork—we keep everything you need in one convenient, high-quality book. This means no more juggling several different materials; everything is integrated into one place, making your homeschool experience simpler and more streamlined. We didn’t stop at just content—we carefully considered durability as well. Our books are printed on heavy-weight paper with high-quality ink, designed to withstand the rough handling that comes with daily use. We understand that kids can be tough on their materials, and the last thing you need is a book falling apart after a few weeks. That’s why we made sure our pages are sturdy and long-lasting, ensuring they hold up throughout the entire school year. But there’s more to these books than just their sturdiness. As your child progresses through each unit, they’ll fill their book with personal artwork, creative writing, and the thoughtful answers to our Sharpening Arrows questions. These books aren’t just a one-time resource—they are keepsakes. A record of your child’s growth, imagination, and learning that will last for years. Think of them as a miniature time capsule, capturing your child’s journey at each stage. One of the biggest challenges we noticed when creating Arrows of Wonder was that many family-style lessons use the same content across all ages. This often meant that older children weren’t being challenged enough, and younger children were struggling to keep up. We wanted to solve that. So, we designed our curriculum with different developmental stages in mind. Little Wonders and Young Quivers are written with vocabulary and scenarios that suit younger learners, while Mighty Warriors and Giant Slayers take the same material and present it with more advanced vocabulary and deeper analysis. This ensures that all your children are learning the same things, but in a way that is suited to their individual levels. At Arrows of Wonder, we know that homeschool is about more than just academics—it’s about connection. Whether your child is 4 or 14, we want you to be able to connect with them through meaningful discussions and hands-on learning. Each unit encourages conversation, creativity, and curiosity, helping you bond with your child and create lasting memories together. With Arrows of Wonder, we’ve designed a curriculum that not only enriches their education but also strengthens your relationship as a family.
  • Is your curriculum Christian based?
Yes, our curriculum is Christian-based! But we’ve taken it a step further by integrating wonder into the learning process. It’s not just about learning Bible stories—it’s about making them personal and inspiring curiosity. For example, instead of simply reading about how Simon's boat was filled with fish during that miraculous moment, your child will reflect on the story and apply it to their own lives. They’ll be encouraged to think about how they would have felt as a passenger on Simon's boat and whether they too would have chosen to leave everything behind and follow Jesus, becoming a fisher of men. By weaving wonder into the lessons, we invite your child to engage deeply with their faith and the world around them, sparking both spiritual growth and a sense of awe.
  • How does Arrows of Wonder compare to other curriculum?
How does Arrows of Wonder compare to other curriculum? Simply put, we don’t—because we’re not trying to. We created this curriculum to transform the way homeschool is experienced, both within our homes and beyond them. Our lessons go beyond the basics of science, English, and history. They are designed to engage children through real-life scenarios that spark critical thinking, problem-solving, and character development. We incorporate faith and wonder into every lesson, ensuring that learning is not just about memorizing facts, but also about growing as a person. With Arrows of Wonder, your child will explore the outdoors, apply hands-on activities, and dive into creative writing prompts that expand their imaginations—offering a more well-rounded approach to education that empowers both the mind and the spirit.
  • Do you offer a family discount?
As a family of 7 ourselves, we certainly understand that costs can add up rather quickly. For that reason, we happily offer a family discount under the following structure: Two children - 10% discount Three children - 15% discount Four children + up - 20% discount To have the discount applied, reach out to us via email at info@arrowsofwonderhomeschool.com or chat with us using the chat icon on our site. Now if only we could get grocery stores to offer family discounts...
  • Do you offer PDF or digital options?
At this time, we do not. We find printing books to become a bit of a messy area for most homes; between printer issues, computer issues, and just overall technology chaos, this is the exact opposite of our motto of making homeschool life as stress free as possible!
  • What are the beliefs of Arrows of Wonder?
At Arrows of Wonder, we understand the importance of aligning the materials your child engages with to your family’s values and beliefs. As a mother of five and the sole writer behind every unit, I respect and honor the need to ensure what our children are learning reflects what is most important to us. While many programs offer a formal Statement of Faith, I prefer to share a glimpse into who I am and what I hold dear as a Jesus-loving daughter of the King. First and foremost, I believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. There is nothing I can do to earn God's love, as it is a gift given freely through the sacrifice of His one and only son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is God's perfect example of Agape love on earth. I believe that this love must be received by surrendering one’s life to God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This surrender involves every part of who we are: our mind, body, emotions, will, and spirit. Through surrender, praise, prayer, worship, obedience, and the reading of His living Word, I believe we are promised eternal life with Christ in Heaven. To share His love and light with the world, I strive to filter all aspects of my life through His lens, trusting in His timing and plan even in the unknown. I love others as Jesus loves us, seeking to care for the weary and broken. I hold my church community close, valuing the way we come together both inside and outside the walls of the church to spread the love and gospel of Jesus Christ. At Arrows of Wonder, every lesson is written with these beliefs in mind—providing not only an education, but a foundation in faith and wonder that will inspire and guide your children as they grow in knowledge and love.
